5.1 Introduction

Shell commands are intended for managing individual BEAR components at the service level and, in most cases, the administrator will not need to interact with them outside of initial deployment or major configuration change scenarios.

The commands cover administration for the four main BEAR components:

  • Application Server
  • Database
  • NFS Sharepoints
  • Resource Monitor

The commands must be run as the root user and are located in the following path:

/bear/bin

Later versions of BEAR may include the above path as part of the root user's $PATH environment variable.
