6.5 Resource Monitoring

RBAC required: bear: Logs and system monitoring

BEAR provides comprehensive resource monitoring capabilities for all host in a local BEAR deployment from a single interface. This includes:

  • BEAR application server
  • BEAR datatabase server
  • BEAR sharepoint file server

For this to function correctly, the BEAR Resource Monitor must be installed and running on each host. This is built into the application server and doesn't need manual installation unless the application server is not installed.

In order to understand load in context, up to one month of historical resource information is available or until the last system restart (whichever is more recent).

Resource monitoring stats are updated every minute.

6.5.1 Viewing Real-time Resource Data

  1. From the admin Tools menu, select Logs & Monitoring and open the Resource monitor tab.

  1. Select the BEAR host from the Node dropdown and tick each of the Metrics you wish to view. By default, System Info is already preselected.
  2. Define the desired time Range.
  3. Finally, click Get statuss to display the information.

Clicking Get statuss is optional. The Resource Monitor will auto display information according to the selected options every 60 seconds.
