1.3 Installing Documentation Packages
July 6th, 2025 RBAC required: bear: Package management
Application documentation packs may be installed or updated at any time. Some applications may have built-in documentation and this feature would be used to provide updates. Other applications may have sufficiently large documentation that is provided as an optional add-on and this feature would be used to install the related documentation pack.
Documentation packs are associated with specific applications and either the Admin or Public user interface. It is not possible to install a documentation pack for an application is that is not installed on the system.
To install a documentation pack, do the following:
- From the Admin Tools menu, select Package Manager and open the Documentation tab.

- Click Attach file and select a valid documentation .zip file that was created with the BEAR Doc Writer.
- Choose the Update method of installation. The main functional difference is that Append and freshen will not remove any documents that are already installed but not included in the new documentation pack. Instead, those documents will exist but other documents will not link to them. This is useful for archival purposes. Click Upload to install the documentation pack.
